MicroImage

Authors: Roman Jaksik, Michał Marczyk, Andrzej Polański, Joanna Polańska

MicroImage allows detecting and correcting spatial aberrations in Affymetrix microarrays based on surface images recreated from the intensities stored in CEL data files. MicroImage combines image processing algorithms with data analysis methods including statistical testing data imputation techniques.

The main features of MicroImage include:

  • Detection of spatial image aberrations in Affymetrix microarrays in text, xda and acgg file format
  • Ability to control sensitivity and specificity of the detection method for all microarrays in a batch and individual microarrays
  • Visualization of artifact region on a reconstructed microarray surface image
  • Reconstruction of damaged region with a selected data imputation technique
  • Artifact transfer from one microarray to another (imputation efficiency tests)

MicroImage is a standalone Windows application equipped with a graphical user interface. MicroImage doesn't require any additional software to operate and can be used without any installation process since it consists only of a single executable file.
